Sunnier than ever on Öland

Öland is so much more than high summer and lovely shallow beaches. It starts with the wood anemones in Halltorps Hage, continues across the barren early summer on Alvaret, glides into the sun and sandy beaches only found here and collects in the wonderfully unique harvest festival as the leaves turn yellow and the whole island takes on a new appearance. We are happy to have so much to offer here on Öland with everything from ancient culture to zoos and the latest in shopping.

The whole region from the Kingdom of Crystal and Kalmar via the beautiful bridge down to the bird grounds on southern Öland and then up north, preferably including the eastern province, are filled with opportunities. Farm shops, stops at campsites, hotels or hostelries, days with swimming and sand dunes, magnificent golf, archaeological experiences, pony rides, potato dumplings stuffed with pork, soapbox cars – it’s all here! Take the ferry for a day on Gotland and return for the big concerts in the old ruined castle by Borgholm.

Above all, there is (almost) meteorological proof that even the sun has chosen Öland as its favourite Swedish province to heat and light up. Here, the sun is brighter, warmer and seen more often. Here, the sand is whiter and the sea bluer. Here, the wind gives us energy.
